Heritage Open Days

As part of the Nationwide "Heritage Open Days" programme Bowes Railway is open Thursday until Sunday 6th to 9th and Thursday until Saturday 13th to 15th of September (10am-3pm each day)

Guided tours, opportunity to visit all areas and refreshments available. Also there is a vintage bus trip including Ryhope Engines and Bowes Railway etc. departing from the City Centre Museum (see the web site... www.heritageopendays.org.uk )

Previous events...On Sunday 2nd September 2018  Bowes hosted"Mini Mania" supported by North East mini car club.

A fine selection of vintage and modern "mini" cars were on display. The wagon collection, resident steam and diesel locos, workshops, mining memorabilia could be seen and light refreshments were available in the "Kip & Dish" cafe.


Bowes Railway will have a stall at the Tanfield Railway's Mining Heritage weekend on Saturday & Sunday 18th & 19th of August.
